As Chief Executive Officer and a Founder of Emerald Companies, Clay Lee provides more than 25 years of experience in the development and financial execution of numerous correctional and real estate ventures. Since 1996, as a principal of Emerald Companies, Mr. Lee has met the aggressive growth and operations targets set by the company. Then in 1997, Emerald Correctional Management, LLC was formed as a result of these efforts, solidifying Emerald’s position as a successful industry provider of design-build projects and detention operation partnerships.
Prior to founding Emerald Companies, Mr. Lee was recognized in the Shreveport, Louisiana area for his successful development of apartment complexes, shopping centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and planned unit communities. He began operating certain facilities to ensure the integrity of his design, construction and operating vision. Mr. Lee applied his management principles to designing, building, financing and operating correctional and detention facilities. It was through his involved management of these detention facilities that the secure transportation of detainees and quality healthcare services were integral to the success of these operations and were developed as divisions of the Company.
Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. Mr. Lee’s associations and affiliations include the National Association of General Contractors, National Association of Home Builders, Construction Specification Institute, the American Correctional Association, Executive Board of the Shreveport-Bossier YMCA, and member of the Board of Directors for the Shreveport Little League.
